The Star City Pontiac Club meeting was held October 12, 2003, at The Grill of the South, Roanoke, VA. President Chris Reynolds presided at this meeting with 16 present.
Our September 20, 2003, 7th Annual Star City Pontiac Injun Uprising Pontiac GMC Truck Show held at Home Depot was a great success. Many thanks to all who participated in this event. Our Club will give trophies at future car shows for longest distance traveled, best paint job, etc.
Charlie Tull will host our Christmas party at his home in Boones Mill on December 14, 2003. Members are to bring gifts to this party not to exceed $15.00 per gift. Men should bring a man’s gift and women should bring a woman's gift.
Our next meeting will be held on November 9, 2003, at 5 p.m. at The Grill of the South (formerly Charcoal Steakhouse), 5225 Williamson Road, NW, Roanoke, VA. Election of club officers for 2004 will be held at this meeting.

The Star City Pontiac Club meeting was held November 9, 2003, at The Grill of the South, Roanoke, VA. President Chris Reynolds presided at this meeting with 17 present.
Club members approved a donation of $150.00 to benefit medical expenses for Arnie Beswick and $150.00 for Good Neighbors Fund.
Officers for year 2004 were elected and are as follows: Chris Reynolds, President; Steve Burak, Vice President; Steve Snead, Secretary and Randy Hurt, Treasurer.
Our club has a new member: Alan Stark & Daphne, Henry, VA, who owns a 1965 GTO.
Our club Christmas Party will be December 14, 2003, at 5 p.m., hosted by Charlie and Carol Tull, Boones Mill, VA. Members are to bring gifts to this party not to exceed $15.00 per gift. Men should bring a man’s gift and women should bring a woman’s gift. Members should also bring either a dessert, salad or vegetable dish.

Our monthly meeting was held on May 16 at Famous Anthony's-460 East of Roanoke with 15 in attendance.
The invocation was given by club Vice President, Steve Burak.
After the meal, club President Chris Reynolds called the meeting to order.
Treasurer Randy Hurt presented the treasury report.
Our spring car show was discussed and all agreed it was a success. We had 25-30 entries of various makes-Pontiac, Olds, Buick, Cadillac, and one GMC Caballero which got the People's Choice Award. Everyone thought the trophies turned out well. We had a large number of door prizes donated thanks to the efforts of club members.
Plans for the fall show are beginning to be made. We hope to get a new sponsor for the fall show and the location and date will be announced very soon.
Possibilities for a club outing were discussed, one being a cruise to the Starlight Drive-In in Christiansburg. No date was set.
Upcoming events were announced: Poker Run- May 23-Longwood Pard in Salem, Festival in the Park Show- June 5, Star City Cruisers Show at Tanglewood Mall on June 12,and Star City Motor Madness-July 2-3.
Chris and Christi Reynolds won a top 30 out of 80 entries with their '69 Firebird Convertible at the Botetourt VoTech Show on Sat. May 15.
Classifieds for this month included: Ray Miller looking for rebuildable 350 engine, Rob Fariss still looking for 350-400 engine, and Chris Reynold has alum, intake for 350 engine for sale as well as the 69 Firebird qtr. panel.
Our next meeting will be 5:00 P.M. June 13 at Mama Maria's in Salem.

Our monthly meeting was held on June 13 at Mama Maria's Italian Restaurant in Salem with 22 in attendance.

Upcoming events announced were: June 18-20--New River Autofest, July 2-3-Star City Motor Madness, and July 6-10-POCI Convention in Joplin, Mo.
Our club members will be manning the prize wheel at Motor Madness downtown Roanoke on July 3 from 10-2.

Chris advised that he and Charlie Tull were going to meet with Gary Duncan owner of Duncan Automotive Network on Mon. June 15 to discuss potential show sites at one or two of their locations. The results of that meeting will be announced at our July meeting. Tentative date for our Fall Show is Sept. 18.
Our next meeting will be held at the home of Steve and Linda Snead in Salem on July 11 with a picnic and potluck supper.
On Aug.8, the club has rescheduled our tour of Sink's Chevrolet Museum for 2:00 P.M. with meeting to follow at a local restaurant TBA.

| August 8, 2004 - Club Outing - Sink's Chevrolet Museum - Famous Anthony's, Roanoke, VA |
On August 8, our afternoon began with an outing to Sink's Chevrolet Museum. What an incredible collection of cars, displays, and memorabilia! Our thanks to Rocky Sink and his family, and Ken Spangler for opening their homes and museums for our enjoyment.
After the tour, we all met at Famous Anthony's on 460 East for our dinner and meeting.
The invocation was given by Steve Burak. After dinner, Chris Reynolds presided over the meeting.
Treasurer, Randy Hurt advised us of our checking account balance.
Steve Burak brought us up to date on the success of Star City Motor Madness. Approximately $30,000 was raised to benefit the automotive wing project at the Transportation Museum. Steve also discussed further our clubs participation in the bike drive for Toys for Tots coming up this Christmas season.
Chris welcomed new members and advised our club membership is now at 53 members and associates.
A number of club members had attended car shows this summer and came home with top awards. Charlie Tull won a Gold award for his 66 GTO at the National POCI Convention in Joplin, Mo. Carl Slate won Best GM other than Chevrolet at the Chilhowie car show on July 3 for his 55 Pontiac. Carl also won 1st Place in Antique Original class at the Buena Vista show. Ron Ferguson also won top awards at Chilhowie and Buena Vista for his 30th Anniversary T/A. Charlie Tull and David Reams also were at the Floyd car show.
Upcoming events noted were: Sept. 11-Olde Salem Days. Sept. 18-Cathedral of Praise Car Show. Sept. 25- Star City Pontiac-GMC Show at Duncan Mitsubishi in Salem. Oct. 2-Buchanan Festival. Oct. 16-Vinton Moose Lodge show. Oct. 23-Tanglewood Mall show Help Us Help Kids.
Plans for our fall show were discussed and a sign up sheet was passed around.
Chris advised that Jim Sanders, Mgr. at Duncan Mitsubishi had pledged $700 toward awards and plaques for our show. Thanks! Jim.
Chris is working with CMT Sporting Goods for the purchase of Plaques.
We agreed that Carl Slate's 55 and Chris Reynolds Collector T/A would be featured on the plaques.
Chris urged all members to solicit or contribute door prizes for the show.
Our September meeting will be held on the 12th at 5:00 P.M. at Mama Maria's in Salem.

Members attending recent Car shows and receiving awards were: Chris and Christi Reynolds went to The Trans Am Nationals with their '69 Firebird and received top award for heavy custom. Ron Ferguson attended the Rich Creek Car Show held today and won a trophy for Most Unique Car, his '99 T/A convertible Ann. Edition. Carl Slate also attended the show and won Best GM with his '55 Pontiac
Plans were finalized for our Pontiac-GMC-Buick-Olds-Cadillac Show to be held at Duncan Mitisubishi on Sept. 25.
Chris advised that Duncan had pledged $xxx to sponsor the show.
Trophies and dash plaques have been ordered. Both feature photos of Carl's '55 Pontiac and Chris' T/A Collector Edition
Members were urged to keep collecting door prizes for the show and to be at Duncan Mitsubishi at 8:00 A.M. on the 25th to setup for the show.

Chris gave a report on our Fall Car Show held at Duncan Mitsubishi. We had 30 entries with 15 entries from outside of the club.
Jim Sanders, mgr. of Duncan Mitsubishi was very pleased with the show and advised he would like for us to do it again.
Carol Cundiff has volunteered to take over the sign up sheet for the club and is providing a tote to store supplies for future shows. Thanks! to Carol.
No treasurer's report was available at this meeting. We hope to have final results of our show at the Nov. meeting.
Chris advised that he has received a special magazine subscription rate from Primedia, the co. that publishes High Performance Pontiac. More info. will be availabe at StarCityPontiac.org
We have shirts available with logos already embroidered on them for 19.00.
Steve Burak again presented the Toys for Tots bike drive and the club agreed to donate $100 to the cause.
Also the club voted to donate $200 to the Good Neighbors Fund for this Christmas season.

The Star City Chapter had it's December meeting/Christmas party at the home of Charlie and Carol Tull with 31 members, spouses, and guests present. Many thanks to the Tulls for opening their home to us and for their gracious hospitality. The evening began with a social time and a short business meeting. Club officer nominations were confirmed and voted on by those present. Officers for the 2005 remained the same with: Chris Reynolds, President; Steve Burak, Vice President; Steve Snead, Secretary; and Randy Hurt as Treasurer.

Our February meeting was held on the 13th at Mama Maria's in Salem. We had 23 in attendance.
The invocation was given by David Cundiff prior to the meal.
Afterwards, Club president, Chris Reynolds conducted the business meeting.
Our Treasurer, Randy Hurt advised of the checking account balance.
He advised he had sent our check to the Good Neighbors Fund since the last meeting. We were reminded that the 12.00 yearly club dues need to be paid. Membership also requires each person pay their POCI dues also.
Plans are beginning to come together for our spring car show. The show is tentatively scheduled for May 21 at Duncan Pontiac in Christiansburg, Va. Due to the AACA meet on May 7 and the Piedmont Show in Greensboro on May 14, the show was moved up to the 21st. Chris showed us a new design for the flyers and plaques which met the club's approval.
Chris also advised that Gary Duncan had invited us to tour his collection of cars at their Duncan Ford location after the show on the 21st.
Chris challenged all members to solicit door prizes for the show.
We have a number of club logo shirts for $20.00 and hats for $10.00 available.
Our next meeting will be on March 13 at 4:00 P.M. at Mama Maria's. We urge all members and prospective members to attend as we continue to plan and get volunteers to help with the show.

Steve Burak gave us an update on the Star City Motor Madness Event coming up in July and advised the next meeting would be April 18.
Plans for our Spring Car Show are being finalized for May 21st at Duncan Pontiac/GMC in Christiansburg. A signup sheet was passed around for members to bring various items. Dash Plaques have been ordered and Chris Reynolds is working with Kudo's Trophies for the awards. The show has been listed on upcoming events with The Roanoke Times.
Club jackets were available for pickup and can still be ordered by contacting Chris Reynolds or Charly Tull.
Our next meeting will be held on May 15 again at Famous Anthony's on 460 East. 5:00 P.M.

We welcomed newcomer, Jeff Patterson to the club. Jeff has a '91 Trans Am GTA which he has owned since new.
Our invocation was given by Jack Akers.
After the meal, club president Chris Reynolds led the business meeting.
Chris advised that he had completed the annual POCI report.
The club approved continuance of our website and approved the 35.00 fee for the next year.
Chris advised that he hoped to set up a classified ad section on the site in the near future.
Plans for our Spring car show set for May 21 at Duncan Pontiac in Christiansburg were finalized.
Chris advised he had received 5 Magazine Subscriptions from High Performance Pontiac as well as Gift Certificates from Ames Performance Engineering. He urged club members to keep collecting door prizes for the show.

It was announced that jackets are unavailable right now but Charly Tull is looking into a new source for them.

The success of our spring show were discussed. The club took in xxxxxx at the show which included the sponsorship money from Duncan Pontiac. Many thanks for them having us and making our show successful. All comments from the Duncan staff were positive and they hope we can have future shows at that location.
Thanks to our show, our club treasury now stands at xxxxx.
We had 42 entries at the show with some entries from West Virginia and North Carolina. 44 trophies were given out in the various classes as well as an appreciation plaque to Duncan for having us.
Several of our members attended the Pontiacs at Pigeon Forge this month. Ron Ferguson received a 1st place trophy for his '99 Trans Am Anniversary and Carl Slate placed 2nd in his class for his '55 Pontiac. Congratulations to Ron and Carl.
We have 15 members planning to attend the POCI Convention in Greenville, S.C. July 12-16. David Cundiff suggested the club pull together a display for a booth at the convention. Any members having banners, photos, videos, were encouraged to bring them to the next meeting before the convention.
Darrell Wheeler suggested that we setup a Stanley Cumbee Memorial Award to be given out at a future show. Stan, a long time member of the club passed away suddenly last year.
Our next meeting will be held on July 10th-5:00 P.M. back at Frank's.

Our club will have 6 vehicles entering the POCI Nationals in Greenville, SC.
Duncan has decided against the Fall show at the Salem location. Chris asked Jack Akers and Charlie Tull to contact Robert Bennett about a possible car show at that location.
Jack and Judy Akers graciously volunteered to host the annual picnic. The next meeting will be at their house on August 14 at 4:00 PM.

Our July meeting was held on the 9th at the Roanoker Restaurant with 30 in attendance.
Steve Burak gave our invocation and the meeting was called to order by club president Charly Tull. We welcomed Cal Saunder's dad, Pete Saunders as our guest this month.
Treasurer Randy Hurt advised our account now stands at xxxxxx. Randy reminded that any members who have not paid their dues for this year, please do so. They are 12.00/year and you are required to be a member of the national POCI to be a local member.
Steve Burak gave an update on the July 3-4 Star City Motor Madness. An estimated 20,000 vehicles cruised Williamson Road on Monday night July 3.
Steve thanked all club members who helped out with the Prize Wheel and other aspects of the event. They do need volunteers for next years event.
We have a couple of club members with new cars. Christy Reynolds now has a 98 Trans Am Convertible and Darrell Wheeler just purchased a very nice '66 Grand Prix.
Upcoming events are the club cruise to the D-Day Memorial on July 22 with lunch at the old Bedford Rail Station Restaurant; Covington Street Scene-Aug. 12
Old Salem Days on Sept. 9; Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise Show on Sept.16 (an award for the club with the most participation); and our Fall Show at Duncan Acura on Oct. 7
Jerry Kling advised we have Business Cards printed that can be given out to prospective club members, flyers are printed up for the Oct. Show.
He advised we need to start gathering Door Prizes for that show and we might ask vendors if they would want to sponsor some type of trophy for that show.
Carol Cundiff passed around a signup sheet for any of the club ladies who might be interested in a Card Making Workshop. Contact Carol if interested in that.
Several club members were heading out to the GTOAA Nationals in Kentucky July 13,14,15. They are Cal Saunders, Charly Tull, and Bill Cullop. Good luck guys!

· The August meeting was held on the 13th at The Roanoker Restaurant with 25 present.
· Club vice president David Cundiff presided over the meeting in Charly Tull's absence.
· Steve Burak gave our invocation.
· David advised we have a new club member, Otto Jacobi. Welcome Otto!
· Plans for the upcoming fall car show to be held on October 7 at Duncan Acura from 10-3 were discussed further. David urged everyone to take some flyers and pass them out at various events and shows. He advised they plan to send out some letters to neighboring POCI chapters in hopes some would attend our show. Also needed are door prizes and items to put in goody bags.
· Judging for the show to be headed by Bill Cullop, Darrell Wheeler, and Steve Snead.
· Treasurer Randy Hurt was present and advised the club now has xxxxxxx in our account.
· Activities director Steve Burak advised the outing to the D-Day Memorial was a success and commended their guide at the site with his knowledge and direction that made the visit very interesting. There were 12-14 cars, members and guests that participated. After the tour, they had a delicious late lunch at the old train station restaurant in Bedford. The next club activity will be this coming Sunday(Aug.20) with a Cruise to the Starlite Drive-in Theatre in Christiansburg, The movie playing is Talladega Nights. We will meet at the road going into Pinkerton Chevrolet in Salem at 6:00.
· David announced that Chris and Christy Reynolds plan to attend the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton, Ohio Aug. 25-27. Anyone interested in going can contact them with questions.
· Congratulations to Bill Cullop on their Popular Vote Award at the GTOAA meet in Louisville, KY. Bill advised there were 400 cars at the event as well as 90 Concours vehicles.

Star City Pontiac Club meeting was held on September 10, 2006, at Famous Anthony’s (Brookside), Roanoke, VA, with 23 in attendance. President Charly Tull called the meeting to order and Steve Burak gave the invocation. We were honored to have as our guest, Mike Brown, who was a former member and past president.
Members discussed and finalized plans for our fall car and truck show to be held on October 7, 2006, at Duncan Acura on Peters Creek Road. Rain date for this show will be October 8, 2006.
Bill Cullop discussed judging classes for future car shows and also passed several pages of detailed information about each class.
Chris and Christi Reynolds won 1st place in their class ’67 thru ’81 Heavy Custom Firebirds at Dayton, Ohio, Trans Am Nationals Show.
Our next meeting will be a cruise to The Homeplace Restaurant on October 15, 2006. We will meet at Pinkerton Chevrolet at 3:15 p.m. and depart at 3:30 p.m. in order to arrive at The Homeplace Restaurant by 4:00 p.m.

The October meeting was held on the 15th at The Homeplace in Catawba, Va. The afternoon outing began with a cruise from Salem over Catawba Mountain on Rt.311 to the restaurant where we had a delicious home cooked meal. There were 28 members and guests were present along with a number of members cars which we were able to park as a group on the front lawn.
Prior to dinner, Steve Burak gave our invocation and the business meeting was called to order by Pres. Charly Tull.
We welcomed Jack Akers brother Ken Akers and his wife Helen as guests this month. Also, new members, Otto and Lorraine Jacobi were with us. They have an '04 GTO.
Club treasurer, Randy Hurt was not present so we did not have a Finance Report available for this month's meeting.
The fall show was reviewed and ideas for changes and improvements were solicited. Thanks to all those who were involved in making the show a success even though it had to be postponed twice due to wet weather.
Congratulations to Bill & Vicki Cullop for their Best GM award at the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise Car Show and also to Chris and Christie Reynolds for getting the People's Choice Award there.
Our next meeting will be held on November 12 at 4:00 at The Roanoker Restaurant. We hope to see everyone there!

Our November meeting was held on the 12th at The Roanoker Restaurant with 30 members in attendance.
Prior to the meal, our invocation was given by Club president Charly Tull followed by welcoming remarks.
Club Treasurer, Randy Hurt advised that he had deposited xxxxx from our from our fall car show and our current balance presently is xxxxx. After the payouts for trophies, food, etc. , it appears the show just about broke even. We felt this was very good considering the show had to be postponed twice due to rain.
Charly stressed the importance of members keeping their POCI dues up to date as this is a requirement for the local club membership.
Chris Reynolds advised that the POCI.org website is now up and running.
Thanks was given to Judy Akers for writing an article to be sent in to Smoke Signals regarding our Fall Show along with photos. Smoke Signals has advised it will be printed in an upcoming issue.
Congratulations to club member Al Wood on his award for his '60 Catalina at the Good Guys show in Charlotte. He received the "Chicks Choice" Award. Way to go Al!
Charly advised that Gary Duncan has okayed us to have our Spring '07 Show at their new Pontiac Store in Christiansburg, It will be held on May 13 with a Rain date of May 20, 2007.
Special events coming up is our annual Christmas Party coming up on Dec. 10 at the Tull's home. Each family is urged to bring 2 dishes to share as well as 2 gifts(15.00 each) to exchange. Women, bring a woman's gift and Men bring a Man's gift. Club officers will be elected during the business meeting. Steve Snead requested to give up the Secretary position after 3 years and Steve Burak has asked that someone else take over the Special Events chair.
Thanks to Chris Reynolds for making up club logo stationery. Jo Ann Kling will be sending thank you notes to our show sponsors and contributors of door prizes for the event. Thanks! Chris and Jo Ann.
Jack Akers gave us an update on the Star City Motor Madness which has been moved from the actual 4th of July dates to the last Fri. & Sat. in June, the cruise night being on Fri. and the car show on Sat.
Finally, club member Darrell Wheeler is looking for a heater control for his '66 Grand Prix.

Our December Meeting/Christmas Party was held on the 10th at the home of Charly and Carol Tull with 37 members, wives, and guests present. Our thanks to Charly and Carol for their gracious hospitality. Prior to dinner a short business meeting was held by club president Charly Tull.
Club officers for 2007 were elected and are as follows: President-Charly Tull, Vice President-David Cundiff, Treasurer-Randy Hurt, and Secretary-Christi Reynolds. Other leaders chosen were: Show Coordinators Jerry Kling and Bill Cullop and Activities Coordinators-Al Woods and Wayne Reynolds.
Other business voted on unanimously was a gift of 200.00 from the club treasury to the Roanoke Good Neighbors Fund.
A plaque of appreciation was presented to Charly Tull for leading us as president during 2006. Thanks Charly!
Jack Akers gave us a short update on the Star City Motor Madness Event which will now be held on the weekend prior to the Fourth of July.
Our next meeting will be held on January 14, 2007 at the Roanoker Restaurant. Club dues for the 2007 year should be paid at this meeting.
Next Steve Burak led us in prayer, after which, everyone enjoyed a great potluck banquet.
After dinner, we had our traditional Chinese gift exchange. Everyone was after the package with the Tiger Tail attached this year.
We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and look forward to the coming New Year of Club Meetings, Shows, and Events. See you in 2007.

Jack Akers gave us an update on Star City Motor Madness. The show has been moved from the previous dates of July 3rd and 4th to Friday, June 29th for the cruise and Saturday, June 30th for the show. The show times will be from 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
Our Spring show will be held on May 12, 2007 at Duncan Pontiac GMC in Christiansburg, VA. We have an ad in Hemming’s for the show and are working on getting an ad in Smoke Signals, the GTOAA publication, and the National Firebird Club publication. We need goody bag stuffers and door prizes. These can be brought to any meeting. We will have forms to turn in with the door prizes so everyone will know who donated them. Chris Reynolds will set up links on our website to the websites of donating businesses.
The MDA car show will be held the first weekend in March. We are looking for volunteers to enter their car and work a booth at the show.
Local club dues are now due. The rate is $12 per year, with associate members being free.
Club member Mike Brown drove his new Pontiac Solstice so the club members could check it out.
We have a new member, Walter McKay. He has a 66 Catalina 2+2 and a 67 Bonneville hardtop.
Sherry Wheeler’s name was drawn as a winner for the monthly 50/50. She was not in attendance so $13 was added to the pool for next month

SCP Spring Show
Our Spring Car Show will be held May 12, 2007 at Duncan Pontiac GMC in Christiansburg, VA. The dealership is in a new location on the right-hand side of the road, up from their old location. We are buying tables at Sam's to have for this show and all future shows. We have banners up at the dealership for the show.
Thanks go to Wayne Reynolds for purchasing the trophies for the club and to Bill Cullop and Jerry Kling for working with the dealership for this show.
Please give all door prizes and goody bag stuffers to Carol Cundiff and Vicky Cullop.
Chris Reynolds sent out 90 flyers to all previous show entrants and to the SCP members who do not normally attend meetings.
Chris Reynolds revamped the graphics on the website and has added a forum area for members to post questions, show info, items for sale, etc.

Our June meeting was held on June 10, 2007 at Frank’s on Brambleton with 37 members in attendance.
We had 38 cars entered in our Spring Show. We discussed doing more advertising, maybe a newspaper ad, for future shows. It was suggested that no more cars be allowed to "drive-thru" the show. It was also suggested that we may want to team up with another car club to do a fundraiser.
We have new members, Ray and Judy Wooten of Farmville. They have an 06 GTO, a 67 GTO Conv. and a new Solstice.
Summer Events:
Cruise In at Farmville on the 3rd Friday of each month from 6 till dark.
June 15 is the Douthat Park picnic - meet at Lord Botetourt High School at 11:00 and bring your lunch.
Star City Motor Madness, Friday June 29 from 6-10 PM, Saturday June 30 from 2-9 PM, all parking will be on Jefferson Street. VMT parking is at the library. Randy Hurt will be playing music on Saturday from 2:30 - 4:30.
Mother's Car Show at the Shelor Motor Mile Speedway July 6-7. If we have 10 or more cars we may get on TV.
Ames Tri-Power Nationals August 10-12.
Richmond Commonwealth Car Show is being held in Septemeber.
We are changing our Peaks of Otter Cruise to September 22.
Tentative date for our Fall show is October 13.

Club participants in the Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge Show were Chris and Christi Reynolds and Bill and Vicki Cullop. Both won first place in their class.
Cindy Reams' name was drawn for the 50/50. She was not present. She would have won $18. $33 will carry over to next month's meeting.

Our July meeting was held on July 8, 2007 at Bellacino's in Daleville with 29 members in attendance.
Club Treasurer Randy Hurt gave a finance report.
We had a Star City Motor Madness update. In spite of the weather there were between 300-400 cars in attendance. Steve Burak thanked everyone that volunteered and worked the prize wheel. We discussed possibly putting a full page ad in the SCMM 2008 program and also adding the dates of our Spring and Fall Car Shows. Everyone enjoyed hearing Randy and his band Encore play.
The following members entered car(s) in the Mother's Car Show in Dublin: Chris and Christi Reynolds, Cal Saunders, Carl and Carol Slate, Bill and Vicki Cullop, Ron Ferguson, Charly and Carol Tull, and David and Cindy Reams. It was a two day event. The quality of the approximately 200 cars was amazing. Christi will bring pictures to the next club meeting. Chris and Christi's 69 Firebird was one of four finalists in the Mild Custom class. The won a trophy, a bucket of Mother's wax and polish, and a television interview that will air on ESPN2 this fall. Cal Saunders was also interviewed by the television crew with his 61 Pontiac bubbletop.
Our fall show is currently scheduled for October 13 with a rain date of either October 14 or October 20. Duncan does not want to host the fall show. Charly is checking into using the parking lot of Kudos (CMT Building). He is also checking with Kudos, Remax Alliance realtors, NGB Billiards, Duncan Automotoive Group, Dairy Queen and Grand Piano as possible sponsors. Also discussed was possibly trying a later time for the show, possibly 1:00 - 5:00 PM. Charly is checking on cost and availability of a live remote by a radio station. A letter will be drafted if anyone needs to present it to possibly sponsors explaining about our show and the sponsorship prices. We may suggest that if a sponsor donates $100 or more they will get their names on the dash plaques and wall plaques. Sponsor can also sponsor certain classes or awards (Best ofs).
Jerry Kling will bring the fall show sign up sheet to the next meeting.
Jack Akers' church, Halesford Baptist, is having a pig roast on September 8th and are hoping to have some cars in attendance. Talk to Jack Akers for details.
There is a cruise-in every third Friday at Walmart in Farmville. It usually has 40 to 80 cars in attendance. It starts around 5:30 and they present three trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best car. The next cruise-in is on July 20th.
Our Fast Freddy's cruise is July 21 - everyone try to meet there no later than 4 PM so that we can try to all park together as a club.
July 21 and every third Saturday is an unorganized cruise-in at River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg, VA. It starts around 2 pm and they give away lots of great door prizes. Since July 21 is our Fast Freddy's cruis-in we may try to go to the August cruise-in as a club.
We have new members, Ray and Judy Wooten from Farmville. They have a 65 GTO, 66 Lemans Conv, 67 GTO coupe, 67 GTO conv and a 68 GTO conv.
Ron Ferguson would have won $47.50 in the 50/50 drawing, but he was not present. $47.50 will be carried over to the next meeting.
Chris Reynolds will check on renting the newly remodeled Vinton War Memorial for our Christmas Party. It was discussed possibly getting several car clubs together to attend and split the cost of Randy's band, Encore.
Our next meeting will be on July 8 at 5:00 PM at Bellacino's in Daleville. Everyone liked the new location as they set up a buffet of subs, pizza, salad, drinks, a cookies for $8 per person.

August 18 is the Farmville Run Wayne talked about the cruise-in to Christiansburg K-Mart. Club will meet at Pinkerton at 3:30 for the cruise.
Carol Tull collected shirts to be monogrammed. Cost is $6 to $8 each.
Sept. 22 is the Peaks of Otter cruise. Club will meet at the 460 Food Lion at 4:00 P.M.
Oct. 14 is the cruise to the Homeplace, time to be announced.

Our first club meeting of 2008 took place on January 13, 2008 at Franks on Brambleton.
There were 38 members in attendance.
After the invocation given by Steve Burak, everyone enjoyed a buffet of pizza, salad and sandwiches.
David Cundiff filled in for our new President Bill Cullop.
Our New Club Officers are President - Bill Cullop, Vice President - David Cundiff, Treasurer - Randy Hurt, Secretary - Christi Reynolds, Newsletter Editor - Chris Reynolds.
We are looking for one or two volunteers for car show coordinator and activities coordinator. If more people offer to pitch in and help, our club will only get better. The car show coordinator helps arrange food sign up sheet, sets up classes and arranges judges. The activity coordinator arranges club activities.
Spring Car Show
We need to set a date. We are checking other car shows and dates along with Duncan's availability. We need to set the date and a rain date at the next meeting so that we can print flyers in time for the MDA Car Show. Chris Reynolds will update the website with all current car shows so we can plan around them if necessary.
We need more doorprizes as we are out.
We need someone to help plan and organize car show activities.
MDA Car Show
We need to pick a car to display in front of the SCP booth. The car should be a car that represents our club.
We need volunteers to help design a display for our booth. We are trying to make a big impression and gain new members. Please give this some thought.
We also need volunteers to take turns manning the booth.
Anyone who plans on entering the MDA show needs to plan on meeting in the parking lot at a certain time so we can all park together as a club.
Joyce Shelton won the 50/50 drawing! She won $17, and $17 went to the club.
Club dues are due. Dues are $12 per year, with no charge for associate members. Please pay your dues to Randy Hurt.
Paul and Lou Marcy visited our meeting. They have a 66 GTO.

Randy Hurt bought a new 64 Bonneville in white and drove it to the meeting.

Jim Clark will help out with Judging and Classing.
We need show coordinators. Jobs would include putting up banners, passing our sign up sheets, etc.

We discussed our Fall show. We need to set a date, possibly October 4, 11, or 18. We are leaning towards October 18. We will have a sign up sheet for ladies to volunteer for the concession stand so that no one gets stuck working the entire time. We may raise our food prices. The awards will be picture plaques.

Our September club meeting took place on September 14, 2008 with 26 members in attendance.
Randy gave a treasury report. Cash on hand as of September 14 is xxxxxxx.
Steve and Sandy Burak will be moving to Oregon. They have been a big part of this club over the years and will be greatly missed.
Our Fall car show will be held on October 18 at Berglund Chevrolet on Williamson Rd.
We need door prizes for the show, food volunteers, 50/50 and door prize ticket volunteers.
We have a sign up sheet for the concession stand so no one gets stuck working it all day.
We are raising our food prices. Hot dogs will be $2, drinks $1. Combos with a drink, chips and a hotdog will be $3.
Bill Cullop will check with Carl Slate about the show insurance.
Michael Wheeler would have won the 50/50 drawing but was not in attendance. $32 will go back into the pot.
The next meeting will be on October 12, 2008. We will cruise to The Homeplace. We will meet at Pinkerton Chevrolet at 3:15 and will leave at 3:30 sharp for The Homeplace. Our reservations are at 4:00 PM.

The October meeting took place on October 12, 2008 following a cruise from Pinkerton Chevrolet with 29 members in attendance. Thirteen cars participated in the cruise.
The club signed cards for Wayne Reynolds and for Steve and Sandy Burak. We discussed purchasing a Jukebox ornament for Steve and Sandy. David will pick it up.
Otto and Lorraine Jacobi have been married for three weeks.
We discussed the upcoming car show. Everyone is to meet at Berglund at 8:00 AM for set up.
Otto Jacobi won the 50/50 drawing. He won $44.
The next meeting will be held at Franks on Brambleton on November 9 at 4:00 PM.

Our club Christmas party will be Sunday, December 7 at 4:00 PM at Charly and Carol Tull's home. Please RSVP to let Carol know what food items you will be bringing. Men bring a man's gift, women bring a women's gift of $15 in value.
Steve and Sandy Burak sent us their new address and it was distributed.
We discussed our club helping out with the Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge show in 2009.
Rucker Tibbs would have won $12 in the 50/50 drawing but was not in attendance. $12 will roll over to the next meeting.

The December Meeting was our annual Christmas party at The Tull's home with 24 in attendance.
Charly Tull gave the invocation.

The club voted to give a $200 donation to the Good Neighbor's Fund. Chris Reynolds will contact Randy to arrange it.
A discussion was started about possibly doing a Toy's for Tots event next Christmas where all attendees would bring a toy to donate.
Our next meeting will be held on January 11 at 4 PM at Frank's on Brambleton.
