• MDA Car Show

  • March 6,7,8 2009

  • Need fliers for our spring show by then to hand out at MDA show at our booth

  • Dave recommended a newer car for us to put in the show to let others know it's not only about older cars

  • Randy's Solstice or Roger Gibson's GTO or Bill's GTO 

• Jack Akers told the members Star City Madness car show is planned for 6/27/09 downtown Roanoke

  • Pontiac and GM cars will be parked on Franklin Road this year

  • Need approximately 110 cars

  • Work in shifts to park cars - need as many members as possible for this task

  • Set up table for registration of new members

• 50/50 - Harold Shelton 

• Activity - New Drive-In located in Moneta

  • Wait till 2010 or 2011 for Pontiac to be a sponsor

  • Berglund cruise-in will continue this year

• Chris and Christy's orange car has been accepted in the MDA car show 

• Ron agreed to place his car in the MDA car show for our display as late model

• Sign up sheet was passed around for Pontiac booth at MDA

• Will have 50 goodie bags - need items for bags also

• Bill to bring sign up sheet for volunteers for spring car show at next months meeting

• NEED ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

• Bill suggested purchasing club T-shirts with logo

• Chris presented Bill with a watch for his service as President last year

• Fall Show - October 3, 2009

• Winners with trophies will be top 25 at fall show

• Teresa Start won the 50/50

• Next meeting - April 5, 2009 - a week early because of Easter Sunday at Bellacino's, 5:00pm

• Names were taken of members who wanted emails for reminders of car club meetings 

• Charley and Cal sold their 1966 GTO at the Charlotte Auto Fair 

• If any members are interested - Glasgow Christmas Parade, December 6, 2009, drive cars 

• Berglund Cruise In - starts 5:00 on the 1st Saturday of the month

• Cruise in after our car show on May 2, 2009 

• Bill needs items for goodie bags (50-60) for car show and also items for the door prizes

• Carl, Jim and Jack Akers  will be judging for the car show 

• Chris needs help putting the plaques together at  the car show - 20 classes this show 

• Bill to check on length banner can be hung at Berglund before show

• Talk to Brian at Berglund about adding our car show to their advertisement on the radio

• Run ad in paper in the extra section - no charge 

• Dash Plaques - Jack Akers and Rob Fariss' cars will be on them 

• Jack Strickler mentioned he could get extra trophies for us to use as specialty trophies at our shows 

• Cruise In - Downtown Buchanan - 2nd Friday of the month at 5:30 

• Car show - Rocky Mount - May 24, 2009, Sunday 1:00 - 150 cars registered already

• Randy's band played in Christiansburg Saturday night.  That was my first time hearing them and they were very good! You missed a good show! 

• Star City Madness Car Show - Need volunteers for parking  - Saturday, June 26, 2pm-7pm time of show - let Jack Akers know  if you are interested 

• Don't forget the Cruise-In on Williamson Road - Friday, June 26

• June 7 - Car show in memory of Russell Cannaday at Cannaday's Wholesale House

• Patty Saunders is having surgery on June 9

• Grand at Valley View having a cruise in this Saturday - 6/20 had one last Saturday too real good turn out
